Patrick Weichert

Patrick Weichert is in a field of endeavor that requires a significant level of higher education. He is a clinical psychologist who is now retired for the most part, but he does assist clients on a limited basis. This individual could be considered a true American hero, because he was willing to put it all on the line for his country. Patrick Weichert served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, so he has a great deal of empathy for other veterans who served during times of war. When you enter the military, you must go through extensive training, so he learned a great deal about the value of education when he was in the armed forces.

Patrick Weichert came from a tough neighborhood in Springfield, Illinois, and it was largely comprised by blue-collar families. Though he looks back fondly on his childhood, he wanted to take a different path. He knew that he would have to obtain an educational underpinning if he was going to accomplish his goals, so he placed an emphasis on his academic pursuits. He studied Liberal Arts at Springfield College, but he didn’t stop there. He obtained his B.S. in Education and Sociology from the University of the State of New York in 1983, and this was the springboard that led to the next step. In 1984, he obtained a Masters degree in psychology from Vermont College of Norwich University, and he earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Union Institute in 1988. Patrick Weichert went on to become a practicing clinical psychologist, and he is now enjoying his retirement years.
